What’s it about?
To launch the Legs Matter Roadshow (LMR) at the start of Legs Matter Week, providing an overview of what this is, what will be covered / learning objectives, who should attend, dates / locations and how to register.
Joanne Casey and Kate Williams will cover how the LMR will help in achieving the Legs Matter 10-point plan with input from Elliot Dixon.
This webinar will introduce the concept to viewers, raise awareness and generate interest to want to attend one of the UK wide roadshows.

Learning objectives of the Legs Matter Roadshows
- Attendees will gain an overview of the circulatory system and an understanding of chronic venous hypertension.
- Attendees will gain an understanding of the basics of compression therapy and how it can support in the prevention of leg ulcer development and management of venous disease
- Attendees will gain the practical skills required to assess and measure for phlebology compression garments
Who’s speaking?
Joanne Casey (Chair) – Professional Development Lead, Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) and Co-Chair, Legs Matter Coalition
Joanne is a podiatrist who has developed a portfolio career spanning clinical, research, education, management and leadership.
She has worked within NHS primary, secondary, tertiary care teams and within independent practice settings. She has spent half of her 21year career working with the team in The Mike Edmonds Foot Clinic at Kings College Hospital, London.
She has a strong passion for community health, encouraging social prescribing and collaborative partnerships to provide individuals with personalised care to prevent tissue loss and limb amputation.
Joanne is currently the Professional Development Lead at The Royal College of Podiatry; Visiting Fellow at The University of Southampton and co-chair of the Legs Matter coalition.
Kate Williams, Senior Lecturer in Tissue Viability at the University of Huddersfield, Honorary Tissue Viability Nurse for Leeds Community Healthcare Trust and Treasurer, Legs Matter Coalition
Kate started working in Plastics and Orthopaedic Trauma but settled in the Community and trained as a District Nurse. She has worked in Community Tissue Viability in London, mid Wales and Leeds since 2003.
Kate is passionate about patient centred care and the values of the clinician patient relationship and is a Trustee and Treasurer of the Society of Tissue Viability and Vice Chair and Treasurer of Legs Matter.
Elliot Dixon, Brand Manager JOBST UK, Essity
Elliot works for Essity and is UK Brand Manager for Jobst and responsible for the management of the phlebology range.
