Legs Matter Champion

One of the questions we’re often asked at Legs Matter is, what can I do to help? It comes from healthcare professionals who are frustrated by poor care. From people who know that when leg and foot conditions are treated too late or not treated at all, it causes harm – and who want to be part of changing that.

That’s why we created the Legs Matter Champion programme.

It’s not a training course. It’s not a professional qualification. It’s not a badge of expertise. It’s a way of acknowledging the work that’s already happening – often quietly – across the UK to champion leg and foot health.

We know that there are already brilliant individuals pushing for better care: calling things out, starting conversations, advocating for patients, and making leg and foot health visible in their workplaces and communities. This programme is about giving those people recognition, a sense of connection, and a shared identity. It’s about shining a light on the people who are helping to shift the culture.

Who is it for?

The Champion programme is open to anyone working in health or social care who is passionate about leg and foot care – whether you’re a nurse, a GP, a healthcare assistant, a podiatrist, a care worker, or working in the voluntary sector. We’re looking for people who are already taking action in whatever way they can. You don’t need permission. You don’t need a particular job title. You just need to care.

Our long-term ambition is simple: we want there to be at least one Legs Matter Champion in every healthcare setting across the UK.

This is about visibility. About being part of something. And about helping make sure that leg and foot care finally gets the attention it deserves.

If that sounds like you – or someone you know – we’d love you to join us.
